Catherine is a developmentally trained infant and child psychologist who has extensive experience working with very young children with developmental, emotional, cognitive and social related concerns. She has a particular focus on identifying and meeting infant’s and children’s needs and helping parents feel equipped in establishing secure attachment and nurturing relationships. Catherine works with families to address developmental milestones and any difficulties or concerns that may arise including sleeping, eating, separation, socialisation, learning, behaviour and adjustment.
With over 20 years experience assessing and working with infants and children, Catherine has worked in early intervention, private practice, as an infant mental health consultant and at a tertiary level supervising Clinical and Developmental Psychologists in training. Her academic background has focused on the development of very young children, their learning and mental health, and she has completed training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy. Catherine works closely with Paediatricians, GPs and Allied Health professionals, provides presentations to early childhood and kindergarten educators, and supervises other practitioners in their work with children and families. Victoria is a psychologist who believes strongly in equipping her clients and families with skills to help navigate those difficult moments. She has an individualised approach to therapy and draws on principles of CBT, ACT, mindfulness and play-based therapy.
She has extensive experience working within schools, hospitals, community health and private practice. Victoria also holds parenting presentations and workshops to build capacity and improve attachment relationships. She has particular interest in:
